Sheila Cordner, Author of “Who’s Hiding in this Book” is a literature professor at Boston University

Sheila Cordner, Ph.D. teaches literature at Boston University and lives in the Boston area with her husband and two young children. Her passion is to share her love of the classics with a broad and diverse audience.

Previously, Sheila has written a book on nineteenth-century authors’ innovative ideas about education, and has presented her research at national and international conferences. She believes we are never too young—or too old!—to appreciate great works of literature.

Sheila’s first children’s book in our Gigglequick Books imprint, tentatively entitled Who’s Hiding in This Book? Go Exploring with 10 Famous Authors is scheduled for publication in October, 2019.

The book takes young readers on a magical illustrated journey to meet authors Virginia Woolf, Langston Hughes, Zitkála-Šá, Herman Melville, Taha Hussein, Edith Wharton, Henry David Thoreau, María Amparo Ruiz de Burton, Emily Dickinson, and Sui Sin Far.

The book is delightfully illustrated by New York artist Daniel Fiore, who created the illustrations for the 2017 Gigglequick title, The Mystical Magical Abracadabracal Daniel McDougal McDouglas McFly. Fiore creates his illustrations in pastels and watercolors and digitizes them for print production.
